FFWPU Fiji: From 9th of November to 29th four member of “Oceania Leadership Team” been in Fiji to do service project and learn about Fijian culture.
The first week, with Diwali, they could appreciate Indian culture, very present in Fiji: try Indian sweets, food, Hanna, eat without knife and fork… they could also do sightseeing: visit an island, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and a lot of more things.
Second week was one week of service project in Saraswati School. They had to paint the kindergarten and built a playground in the School. They built and paint four seesaws, four swings and one slide. It was one week of hard work but thanks to the local people who help the OLT members was easier. And all of those efforts were rewarded with the view of all the children playing and giggling in the new playground.
The last week they could use they free time to contribute to Fiji’s future by purchasing local products. Finally they discovered the touristic city of Nadi before they flew back to Sydney.
