III. The Three Great Strategies for the Settlement of Cheon Il Guk
3. Raising Capable People for the Future
1) Hyo Jeong World Peace Foundation
True Father planned the establishment of the Hyojeong World Peace Foundation (formerly the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation) during his lifetime in order to pass down, develop and perfect the ideals of Cheon Il Guk. True Mother originally launched the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation on 1.11 by the heavenly calendar in the 1st year of Cheon Il Guk (Feb. 20, 2013).
On this day, during the SunHak Scholarship Presentation Ceremony, True Mother said the following: “Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation should present scholarships to talented people at home and abroad who are connected to True Parents’ peace ideology and to the work to advance their vision, as well as volunteer activities, so that they receive quality education and eventually develop into international leaders.”
Recipients of the SunHak scholarship up until this year total 3,848 students in Korea since the first selection in 2013, and 8,911 students overseas, adding up to more than 12,000 scholarship recipients so far.
True Parents have directly presided over every SunHak Scholarship Presentation Ceremony so far and taught about the vision of raising capable people for the sake of the future. The most recent SunHak Scholarship Presentation Ceremony was held in the presence of the True Parents under the theme, “Shining rays of hope around the world with a filial heart for Heaven.” The ceremony was an occasion of festivity and hope for all recipients, who were able to experience rebirth on the path to become people of ability and talent.
True Mother: “I will further develop the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation. I will give even benefits to all humanity and let everyone know what the original Will of God and True Parents are. I will actively provide support to every one of you so that you can become great people by uniting your dream with Heavenly Parent’s dream.” (2.11 by the heavenly calendar in the 1st year of Cheon Il Guk – Feb. 20, 2013, Cheon Jeong Gung)
2) SunHak Global Education Foundation
True Parents have invested much energy into education throughout their lives. As the true parents, true teachers and true owners, they have worked hard, day and night, to awaken people from ignorance.
They have emphasized education centered on true love and personally practiced this. True Parents established several educational organizations and stepped into the sphere of education, believing that education is the key to raising leaders who live for the sake of the nation and the world rather than the individual, and in establishing a world of the culture of heart, which is the ideal of creation that God envisions.
True Parents have championed the same founding ideal of ‘Love God, Love Humanity, Love Your Nation’ in every educational organization they have established and have not spared their support in helping young people cultivate good character and ability.
True Father: “From quite early on, ever since I knew the living God, I have never forgotten about God’s desire. I have dedicated my life for the realization of a world of peace, the ideal of God’s true love, and have regarded raising capable people with vision who can lead the future, as essential work that I have wanted to carry out for so long. These talented people who are to lead the coming era of a global village, the society of one big family under God, must be people who first love God, humanity, the nation, the world and all created things.”
3) SunHak Universal Peace Graduate University – Universal Peace
After True Father’s Holy Ascension, True Mother saw that the shortcut to one world centered on God, in other words a world of peace, lies in raising future leaders. True Mother therefore founded the Universal Peace Academy (UPA) upon seeing how urgent the work of raising key Cheon Il Guk leaders and pastors was, particularly in passing on True Parents’ tradition to the second generation of the Unification Movement and to all humanity, and in firmly establishing the Cheon Il Guk culture. She chose the Cheongshim Graduate School of Theology as the base for UPA education and emphasized that UPA must conduct concrete training of leaders.
At the Victory Celebration to commemorate True Parents’ Birthday Celebration and the 3rd Anniversary of Foundation Day (1.14 by the heavenly calendar, Feb. 21, 2016), True Mother changed the name of Cheongshim Graduate School of Theology to ‘SunHak UP Graduate University.’ She said the following on this day: “All people who attend this graduate school as of now will be raised into heavenly leaders who are well-prepared in all aspects of their capacity and expertise.”
True Mother: “As UPA cadets, you will have to invest much effort in order to engrave your names in providential history. I sincerely hope you study hard, knowing how much God and humanity have longed for this day. Your youth and strong spirit will become the foundation and pillars for the establishment of Cheon Il Guk. Our goals have become clear. We must absolutely go forward towards the completion of this providence until we take our last breath. So you are the first fruits of this new era and history for the completion of Cheon Il Guk. True Parents will always be with you. You will become the light that shines in a dark world.” (1.23 by the heavenly calendar in the 1st year of Cheon Il Guk – Mar. 4, 2013, Cheongshim Graduate School of Theology)
4) Youth and Students for Peace (YSP)
Youth and Students for Peace (YSP) is a global network of young people dedicated to building world peace through education and volunteer activities. In accordance with True Father’s message that the young people play a leading role in opening a new era of true families, true nations and a true world, True Mother held a YSP Assembly and Inaugural Ceremony on 1.27 by the heavenly calendar in the 5th year of Cheon Il Guk (Feb. 23, 2017), at Cheongshim International Youth Center.
YSP not only presents to young people a vision that can resolve the various problems of modern society and open a new era of peace, but also works hard to raise young people of talent into leaders who can lead the peace movement.
True Mother: “Hwarang [an elite youth warrior group] was created to revive the Shilla Kingdom and the group successfully protected their nation. Likewise, campus activities and CARP must be invigorated for national restoration to be possible. As central nations of the providence, Korea, Japan and the United States in particular must develop CARP and raise many special task forces for national restoration and world restoration. If the 6,000-year providential history of restoration through indemnity was the dark winter season, today we have entered the spring time of the providence for the commencement and settlement of Cheon Il Guk and for restoration of nations and the world. I sincerely hope that you will work hard this spring to plant many healthy seeds and will be able to harvest the required talents as Heaven needs them.”
5) Global Top Gun Youth (GTGY)
GTGY is an HJ Cheonwon special workshop hosted by the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind. It is a major international workshop held each year and attended by seonghwa students (from middle school and up) and the young people of the Family Federation from across the world.
Through the following words, True Parents awakened second generation members’ hearts to their value and mission: “You are my beloved sons and daughters. You must change the world as pure water.’ The 2016 Global Top Gun Youth Special Hyojeong Cheonwon Workshop Hosted by the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind was conducted from 6.29 to 7.19 by the heavenly calendar in the 4th year of Cheon Il Guk (Aug. 21, 2016) for 21 days under the theme, ‘Become the light of the world through a filial heart for Heaven.’ Some 1,200 people from 60 nations participated.
GTGY in the 5th year of Cheon Il Guk was a 21-day workshop conducted from 6.12 to 6.30 by the heavenly calendar (Aug. 1 – 21, 2017). A total of about 1,300 high school students, university students and young adults from 79 nations participated. It was conducted throughout the Cheongpyeong complex and also within the HJ Heaven and Earth Cheonbo Training Center. GTGY in the 6th year of Cheon Il Guk was divided into two consecutive workshops, both held at Cheongshim International Youth Training Center. The first workshop was held for seonghwa students for 14 days from 6.14 – 27 by the heavenly calendar (Jul. 26 – Aug. 8, 2018) with 500 seonghwa students as well as 150 staff members in attendance. The second workshop was held for 21 days from 6.28 to 7.19 by the heavenly calendar (Aug. 9-29, 2018) with some 550 CARP members in attendance.
GTGY participants are trained in the ideal of one great family under Heavenly Parent and in its realization through diverse programs such as True Parents’ Life Courses, Divine Principle, national group workshop, leadership education, career counseling, Blessing education, pilgrimage tour, expert lectures, and activities based on the Cheon Il Guk hyojeong culture. Throughout the workshop, participants are also trained to maintain a vertical alignment with Heavenly Parent and True Parents, and to grow into capable people who are well prepared for the future.
6) HyoJeong Peace Academy (HJPA)
The ‘HyoJeong Peace Academy Specialized Education’ was held in Sun Moon University, Asan Campus, from 1.12-14 by the heavenly calendar in the 6th year of Cheon Il Guk (Feb. 27- Mar. 1, 2018). Just as True Parents blessed Korea, Japan, the United States and Africa to begin anew as ‘Heavenly FFWPU’ in 2018, True Parents also blessed the group of Wonmo Pyeongae global scholarship recipients from 49 nations with the name ‘HJ Peace Academy.’ HJPA has more than 550 scholarship recipients from freshmen to seniors enrolled in universities and among them, some 430 students called to participate in the program were in attendance.
Diverse programs such as True Parents’ Life Courses, Divine Principle, Providential Understanding on the World Summit, the new structure of FFWPU for a Heavenly Korea based on the five sub-regions, choosing careers and aptitude test, advice from leaders in the field, and one-on-one Shimjung Café were conducted during this period for HJPAs, a student group initiated by True Parents that are being trained to become model people with expertise, and who embody hyojeong—a filial heart toward Heaven. It was a time of harmony for all participants.
During the Africa Summit Victory Celebration, True Mother emphasized, “I am giving out scholarships to about 500 young people from the second generation from around the world to study Korean at Sun Moon University.” Just as True Mother stated, HJPA students are making the effort to advance alongside the new changes in FFWPU for a Heavenly Korea by setting up detailed goals to mature their abilities and to support the work in various regions. They are developing into the foundation stones for a heavenly world.
7) Cranes Club
True Parents founded the Cranes Club on 10.29 in the 2nd year of Cheon Il Guk (Dec. 20, 2014) with the hope of connecting professionals from among our generation who are socially recognized in Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, Europe and other regions. The inauguration was held in Las Vegas in the presence of 162 second generation members.
Cranes Club Korea was inaugurated the following year on 1.25 by the heavenly calendar (Mar. 15, 2015), with 120 second generation members participating. The event was conducted on the 1st floor of the FFWPU building. On 3.22 by the heavenly calendar in the 3rd year of Cheon Il Guk (May 10, 2016), after the successful hosting of the 50th anniversary of mission work in Europe, some 400 second generation members across Europe gathered in the Hilton Hotel, Vienna to inaugurate Cranes Club Europe. On this day, True Mother reminded all second generation members about their value, saying, “Second generation members are pure water born after 6,000 years.”
Following their founding, Cranes Club Korea, Japan, USA, and Europe formed communities based on True Mother’s message to Forgive, Love and Unite. They have been working hard to answer to True Parents’ expectations by developing community-based cultural activities such as building international friendships, conducting exchange activities, joint service projects, and charity events, and conducting seminars and programs as well as periodical meetings that encourage exchange and development.
