More than 400 people came together for the One Family Unity Rally at the Connect Point Christian Center in Atlanta, Georgia on October 12, launching a series of regional peace rallies slated for the coming months. These rallies, scheduled for November 9 in Baltimore, Maryland and November 16 in Washington, D.C., are generating excitement for the year-end blowout Peace Starts With Me event in Newark, New Jersey, featuring Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU).

The One Family Unity Rally opened with a video presentation of Dr. Moon’s outreach efforts, followed by a series of powerful musical and dance performances, including a choral performance led by the talented Minister Edna Abernathy and her daughter, a poignant modern dance number by the dance team of Connect Point, and songs of worship led by the Georgia Family Community Center praise team. Dr. Luonne Rouse, national co-chairman of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), gave a moving testimony about his Blessing experience with his wife Marie. Then, eight Ambassador for Peace awards were presented to men and women who have selflessly served their communities in the Atlanta area.

Rev. Demian Dunkley, president of FFWPU USA, gave the keynote address, stating, “I know God exists and right now I can feel God in this room.” He discussed God’s parental heart, the origin of sin and the significance of the Marriage Blessing. Guests were inspired and deeply moved, expressing that his message was both educational and entertaining.

Next, Rev. Mark Abernathy and his wife Edna, pastors of the Connect Point Christian Center, briefly expanded on the Marriage Blessing and invited guests in the audience to receive the Holy Wine. They were met with smiles and enthusiastic applause as they congratulated the 400 newly blessed people. Mark and Edna Abernathy, long-time members and supporters of ACLC, were predominantly responsible for the success of the One Family Unity Rally, joyfully spearheading extensive preparations with the help of their church staff, Atlanta Interim Senior Pastor Levy Daugherty, and volunteers from the Georgia Family Community Center.

Following the rally, guests were invited to a dinner banquet at the newly-renovated Georgia Family Community Center. The dynamic Rev. Young Tack Yang, District 5 pastor, led the evening program and Southeast Subregional Director Rev. Ernest Patton invited everyone to the upcoming Peace Starts With Me rallies. The remainder of the evening consisted of rich and impressive musical presentations from a variety of performers.

The day of festivities concluded with a closing prayer from Rev. Dunkley who called up Atlanta Interim Senior Pastor Levy Daugherty and Rev. Abernathy to join hands with him on stage. “This genuine demonstration of unity centered on God and True Parents brought the joyful evening to a powerful close,” said Rev. Patton. “Georgians felt the heartbeat of God’s providence calling them to forgive, love and, as one family, unite with God’s providence to bring peace on earth.”
